Each picture frame is customized in proportion, profile style, hardwood species and finish to provide the work its optimized frame. The fine art framing profiles are designed and milled to our specifications so that we can further alter the dimension of the frames face and depth resulting in a frame proportioned specifically for the artwork.
Our picture frames are completely handmade in our Philadelphia shop. We construct, sand to a 220 grit and hand apply our stain and spray finishes. By hand applying the finishes, we have the ability to customize color to the works specific needs. We offer our profiles in Hard Maple, Cherry, Walnut, Ash, Mahogany and other species are available upon request. We only use premium hardwoods that are locally milled.
The Gallery style profile features a poplar strainer and our Signature Exposed Joint. The poplar strainer is the backbone of the frame insuring the frames straightness as well as a support for the interior materials. The joint provides a better surface to surface connection as well as an attractive detail. The joinery is visible through natural finishes as well as through some stain finishes.
